35The awilderness and the desert will be delighted,And the 1,bArabah will rejoice and flourish;Like the crocus2It will aflourishprofuselyAnd brejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy.The cglory of Lebanon will be given to it,The majesty of dCarmel and Sharon.They will see the eglory of Yahweh,The majesty of our God.3aStrengthenlimphands, and give courage to the knees of the stumbling.4Say to those with an aanxiousheart,“Be strong, fear not.Behold, your God will comewithbvengeance;The crecompense of God will come,But He will dsave you.”5Then the aeyes of the blind will be opened,And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.6Then the alame will leap like a deer,And the btongue of the mute will shoutforjoy.For waters will breakforth in the cwildernessAnd streams in the 1Arabah.7Then the 1scorchedland will become a poolAnd the thirstygroundasprings of water;In the bhaunt of jackals, its restingplace,Grassbecomesreeds and rushes.8aAnd a 1roadway will be there, ba highway,And it will be called the Highway of cHoliness.The unclean will not pass by on it,But it will be for him who walksin thatway,And dignorantfools will not wanderon it.9Noalion will be there,Nor will any viciousbeastgoup on it;1These will not be foundthere.But bthe redeemed will walkthere,10And athe ransomed of Yahweh will returnAnd come with joyfulshouting to Zion,With everlastinggladness upon their heads.They will 1attaindelight and gladness,And bsorrow and sighing will fleeaway.
