Jeremiah 50:37

O daughter of Babylon, you devastated one, How blessed will be the one who repays you With the recompense with which you have recompensed us.

The oracle concerning Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz beheld.

“I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, Yahweh, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.

and all the foreign people, all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the Philistines (even Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod),

and all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the foreign people who dwell in the desert,

“They will fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, And pierced through in their streets.”

The mighty men of Babylon have ceased fighting; They inhabit the strongholds; Their might is dried up; They are becoming like women; Their dwelling places are set on fire; The bars of her gates are broken.

Therefore behold, days are coming When I will punish the graven images of Babylon; And her whole land will be put to shame, And all her slain will fall in her midst.

Behold, your people are women in your midst! The gates of your land are opened wide to your enemies; Fire consumes your gate bars.

“Woe to the worthless shepherd Who forsakes the flock! A sword will be on his arm And on his right eye! His arm will be totally dried up, And his right eye will be utterly dimmed.”
