Isaiah 40:8

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not establish it?

They are upheld forever and ever; They are done in truth and uprightness.

Forever, O Yahweh, Your word stands firm in heaven.

Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My counsel will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’,

‘This will be the sign to you,’ declares Yahweh, ‘that I am going to punish you in this place, so that you may know that My words will surely be established against you for evil.’

For the sun rises with a scorching heat and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.

For, “All flesh is like grass, And all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off,

But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word which was proclaimed to you as good news.
