Psalm 79:1

Lift up Your steps toward the perpetual ruins; The enemy has damaged everything within the sanctuary.

They crush Your people, O Yahweh, And afflict Your inheritance.

“And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will be defiled like the place Topheth because of all the houses on whose rooftops they burned incense to all the heavenly host and poured out drink offerings to other gods.”’”

“Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, ‘Thus Yahweh of hosts has said, “Zion will be plowed as a field, And Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, And the mountain of the house will become the high places of a forest.”’

And he burned the house of Yahweh, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; even every large house he burned with fire.

‘Moreover, I will make you a ruin and a reproach among the nations which are all around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

Therefore, on account of you Zion will be plowed as a field; Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, And the mountain of the house of God will become high places of a forest.
