Jeremiah 9:19

“Do they provoke Me?” declares Yahweh. “Is it not themselves they provoke to the shame of their own face?”

The Lord has become like an enemy. He has swallowed up Israel; He has swallowed up all its palaces; He has brought its strongholds to ruin And multiplied in the daughter of Judah Mourning and moaning.

“Now as for you, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre

Therefore thus says Yahweh God of hosts, the Lord, “There is wailing in all the plazas, And in all the streets they say, ‘Alas! Alas!’ They also call the farmer to mourning And professional weepers to wailing.

“On that day they will take up against you a taunt And utter a bitter wailing and say, ‘We are completely devastated! He exchanges the portion of my people; How He removes it from me! To the faithless one, He apportions our fields.’
