Jeremiah 48:28

Then he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove; but it did not return to him again.

“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret place of the steep pathway, Let me see your appearance, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your appearance is lovely.”

For the hand of Yahweh will rest on this mountain, And Moab will be trodden down in his place As straw is trodden down in the water of a manure pile.

“Give wings to Moab, For she will flee away; And her cities will become a desolation, Without inhabitants in them.

“As for the terror of you, The arrogance of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, Who seize the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as an eagle’s, I will bring you down from there,” declares Yahweh.

Thus says Yahweh, “For three transgressions of Moab and for four I will not turn back its punishment Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.

“Therefore, as I live,” declares Yahweh of hosts, The God of Israel, “Surely Moab will be like Sodom And the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah— A place possessed by nettles and salt pits, And a perpetual desolation. The remnant of My people will plunder them, And the remainder of My nation will inherit them.”
