Zephaniah 2:9

‘All its land is brimstone and salt, a burning waste, unsown and nothing sprouting, and no grass grows in it, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overthrew in His anger and in His wrath.’

The oracle concerning Moab. Surely in a night Ar of Moab is destroyed and ruined; Surely in a night Kir of Moab is destroyed and ruined.

For the hand of Yahweh will rest on this mountain, And Moab will be trodden down in his place As straw is trodden down in the water of a manure pile.

Thus says Yahweh concerning all My evil neighbors who beat at the inheritance with which I have caused My people Israel to inherit, “Behold, I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them.

Concerning the sons of Ammon. Thus says Yahweh: “Does Israel have no sons? Or has he no one who can take possession? Why then has Malcam taken possession of Gad And his people settled in its cities?

“Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah with its neighbors,” says Yahweh, “no one will live there, nor will a son of man sojourn in it.

“Hazor will become a haunt of jackals, A desolation forever; No one will inhabit there, Nor will a son of man sojourn in it.”

“Now as for you, son of man, prophesy and say, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh concerning the sons of Ammon and concerning their reproach,’ and say: ‘A sword, a sword is drawn, polished for the slaughter, to cause it to consume, that it may be like lightning—

“Son of man, set your face toward the sons of Ammon and prophesy against them

Thus says Yahweh, “For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon and for four I will not turn back its punishment Because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead In order to enlarge their borders.

Thus says Yahweh, “For three transgressions of Moab and for four I will not turn back its punishment Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
