Isaiah 59:10

The way of the wicked is like thick darkness; They do not know over what they stumble.

“And many will stumble over them; Then they will fall and be broken; They will even be snared and caught.”

Jerusalem sinned greatly; Therefore she has become an impure thing. All who honored her despise her Because they have seen her nakedness; Even she herself sighs and turns away.

They wandered, blind, in the streets; They were defiled with blood So that no one could touch their garments.

that their hearts may melt, and many will be stumbling blocks at all their gates. I have given the glittering sword. Ah! It is made for striking like lightning, it is wrapped up in readiness for slaughter.

“And it will be in that day,” declares Lord Yahweh, “That I will make the sun go down at noon And make the earth dark in broad daylight.

For the inhabitant of Maroth Writhes in waiting for good Because a calamity has come down from Yahweh To the gate of Jerusalem.

Therefore it will be night for you—without vision, And darkness for you—without divination. The sun will go down on the prophets, And the day will grow black over them.
