Isaiah 43:25

“And listen to the supplications of Your slave and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place; listen from Your dwelling place, from heaven; listen and forgive.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David. When Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the abundance of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.

Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;

As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says Yahweh, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.

‘Indeed I will defend this city to save it for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.’”

“Behold, for my own well-being I had great bitterness; But it is You who has held back my soul from the pit of nothingness, For You have cast all my sins behind Your back.

“I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud And your sins like a cloud. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”

“For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; For how can My name be profaned? And My glory I will not give to another.

Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to Yahweh, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

Do not be angry beyond measure, O Yahweh, Nor remember iniquity forever; Behold, look now, all of us are Your people.

“And they will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know Yahweh,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares Yahweh, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

‘In those days and at that time,’ declares Yahweh, ‘search will be made for the iniquity of Israel, but there will be none; and for the sins of Judah, but they will not be found; for I will pardon those whom I leave as a remnant.’

“All his transgressions which he has done will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has done, he will live.

“None of his sins that he has done will be remembered against him. He has done justice and righteousness; he shall surely live.

Who is a God like You, who forgives iniquity And passes over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? He does not hold fast to His anger forever Because He delights in lovingkindness.

He will again have compassion on us; He will subdue our iniquities. And You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea.

And he answered and spoke to those who were standing before him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have made your iniquity pass away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.”

“Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?”

The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”

“For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And I will remember their sins no more.”
