Isaiah 1:18

“There is no adjudicator between us, Who may lay his hand upon us both.

Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

“Coastlands, listen to Me in silence, And let the peoples gain new power; Let them come forward, then let them speak; Let us draw near together for judgment.

“Bring Me to remembrance, let us enter into judgment together; Recount your cause, that you may be proved right.

He who vindicates Me is near; Who will contend with Me? Let us stand up to each other; Who has a judgment against Me? Let him approach Me.

Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to Yahweh, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

“So now then, speak to the men of Judah and against the inhabitants of Jerusalem saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Behold, I am forming calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh turn back, each of you from his evil way, and do good in your ways and your deeds.”’

‘Perhaps they will listen and everyone will turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the evil which I am devising to bring against them because of the evil of their deeds.’

“Again, when a wicked man turns away from his wickedness which he has done and does justice and righteousness, he will preserve his life.

“None of his sins that he has done will be remembered against him. He has done justice and righteousness; he shall surely live.

“But both man and animal must be covered with sackcloth; and let men call on God with their strength that each may turn from his evil way and from the violence which is in his hands.

“Listen, you mountains, to the case of Yahweh, And you enduring foundations of the earth, Because Yahweh has a case against His people; Even with Israel He will reprove.

“Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets called out, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts, “Return now from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.”’ But they did not listen or give heed to Me,” declares Yahweh.

‘Are not these the words which Yahweh called out by the hand of the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and at ease along with its cities around it, and the Negev and the Shephelah were inhabited?’”

“In that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity.
