Isaiah 30:5

Now what will you do in the day of visitation, And in the devastation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?

“Then they will be dismayed and ashamed because of Ethiopia their hope and Egypt their boast.

Even Egypt, whose help is vain and empty. Therefore, I have called her “Rahab who has ceased.”

Now the Egyptians are men and not God, And their horses are flesh and not spirit; So Yahweh will stretch out His hand, And he who helps will stumble, And he who is helped will fall, And all of them will come to an end together.

“Behold, you trust in the staff of this crushed reed, even on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.

“How then can you turn away one official of the least of my master’s servants and trust in Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?

Yahweh has spoken to you, O remnant of Judah, “Do not go into Egypt!” You should clearly know that today I have testified against you.
