Genesis 25:13

“As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.

“And of the son of the maidservant I will make a nation also, because he is your seed.”

“Arise, lift up the boy, and hold him by the hand, for I will make a great nation of him.”

Yet Gideon said to them, “I would make one request of you, that each of you give me an earring from his spoil.” (For they had gold earrings because they were Ishmaelites.)

These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael was Nebaioth, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites;

Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshech, For I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

“All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you; The rams of Nebaioth will minister to you; They will go up with acceptance on My altar, And I shall adorn My glorious house with beautiful glory.

Concerning Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck down. Thus says Yahweh, “Arise, go up to Kedar And destroy the men of the east.
