Exodus 25:16

As Yahweh commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before the Testimony to be kept.

“You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony which I will give to you.

“You shall hang up the veil under the clasps, and you shall bring in the ark of the testimony there within the veil; and the veil shall separate for you the holy place and the Holy of Holies.

And Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood; its length was two and a half cubits, and its width one and a half cubits, and its height one and a half cubits;

Then he took the testimony and put it into the ark and attached the poles to the ark and put the mercy seat on top of the ark.

Now their responsibility involved the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, and the utensils of the sanctuary with which they minister, and the screen, and all the service concerning them;

“And when the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and they shall take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it;

“You shall then deposit them in the tent of meeting in front of the testimony, where I meet with you.

‘And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered, and you shall put them in the ark.’

“Command the priests who carry the ark of the testimony that they come up from the Jordan.”

There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses laid there at Horeb, where Yahweh cut a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

Then he brought the king’s son out and put the crown on him and gave him the testimony; and they made him king and anointed him, and they clapped their hands and said, “Long live the king!”

Then they brought out the king’s son and put the crown on him, and gave him the testimony and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him and said, “Long live the king!”

having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod which budded, and the tablets of the covenant.
