2 Samuel 7:13

“And your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”’”

“And yet this was a small thing in Your eyes, O Lord Yahweh, for You have spoken also of the house of Your slave concerning the distant future. And this is the law of man, O Lord Yahweh.

“For You, O Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed in the hearing of Your slave, saying, ‘I will build you a house’; therefore Your slave has found courage in his heart to pray this prayer to You.

“He gives great salvation to His king, And shows lovingkindness to His anointed, To David and his seed forever.”

Truly is not my house so with God? For He has made an everlasting covenant with me, Ordered in all things, and secured; For all my salvation and all my desire, Will He not indeed make it grow?

so that Yahweh may establish His promise which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons keep their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, He said, you shall not have a man cut off from the throne of Israel.’

“So now, as Yahweh lives, who has established me and set me on the throne of David my father and who has made me a house as He promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death today.”

“But King Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before Yahweh forever.”

Then Solomon said, “You have shown great lovingkindness to Your slave David my father, according to how he walked before You in truth and righteousness and uprightness of heart toward You; and You have kept for him this great lovingkindness, that You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

“So behold, I intend to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he will build the house for My name.’

“Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes and do My judgments and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will establish My word with you which I spoke to David your father.

“I have surely built You a lofty house, A place for Your dwelling forever.”

And he said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David and has fulfilled it by His hand, saying,

‘Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will come forth from your loins, he shall build the house for My name.’

However, Yahweh was not willing to make Judah a ruin, for the sake of David His servant, since He had promised him to give a lamp to him through his sons always.

And he built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh had said, “In Jerusalem I will put My name.”

Now it happened when David inhabited his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, “Behold, I inhabit a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Yahweh is under tent curtains.”

‘He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be a son to Me and I will be a father to him; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’

“And He said to me, ‘Your son Solomon is the one who shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be a son to Me, and I will be a father to him.

“Now, O Yahweh God, let Your promise to my father David endure, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.

“Do you not know that Yahweh, the God of Israel, gave the rule over Israel forever to David and his sons by a covenant of salt?

However, Yahweh was not willing to make the house of David a ruin because of the covenant which He had cut with David, and since He had promised to give a lamp to him and his sons forever.

And he built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh had said, “In Jerusalem My name shall be forever.”

I will establish your seed forever And build up your throne from generation to generation.” Selah.

Yahweh has sworn to David A truth from which He will not turn back: “Of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.

The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:

“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David,

and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and there will be no end of His kingdom.”

“And so, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to set one of the fruit of his body on his throne,

“David found favor in the sight of God, and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.
