1 Samuel 8:6

Then Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to Yahweh for you.”

“But you have today rejected your God, who saves you from all your calamities and your distresses; yet you have said, ‘No, but set a king over us!’ So now, take your stand before Yahweh by your tribes and by your clans.”

“But you saw that Nahash the king of the sons of Ammon came against you, and you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ although Yahweh your God was your king.

Where now is your king, That he may save you in all your cities, And your judges of whom you said, “Give me a king and princes”?
