Psalm 103:9

‘You shall not take vengeance, and you shall not keep your anger against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am Yahweh.

So David arose from the ground, washed, anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he came into the house of Yahweh and worshiped. Then he came to his own house, and he asked, and they set food before him, and he ate.

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

“For the sake of My name I delay My anger, And for My praise I restrain it for you, In order not to cut you off.

“For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would grow faint before Me, And the breath of those whom I have made.

‘Will He be angry forever? Will He keep it to the end?’ Behold, you have spoken And have done evil things, And you have had your way.”

Who is a God like You, who forgives iniquity And passes over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? He does not hold fast to His anger forever Because He delights in lovingkindness.

‘But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days,’ declares Yahweh of hosts.
