Proverbs 6:17

For You save an afflicted people, But eyes which are lifted up, You bring down.

Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart, I will not endure.

For their feet run to evil And they hasten to shed blood.

There is a generation—oh how haughty are its eyes! And its eyelids are lifted up.

Their feet run to evil, And they are quick to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of wickedness; Devastation and destruction are in their highways.

“Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on its inhabitants; for truly Yahweh has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.”

‘Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love false oaths; for all these are what I hate,’ declares Yahweh.”
