Proverbs 13:3

Guard your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.

Set a guard, O Yahweh, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.

Wise men store up knowledge, But the mouth of the ignorant fool draws ruin near.

A fool’s mouth is his ruin, And his lips are the snare of his soul.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, Therefore do not associate with one of loose lips.

He who keeps his mouth and his tongue, Keeps his soul from troubles.
