Numbers 27:16

But they fell on their faces and said, “O God, God of the spirits of all flesh, when one man sins, will You be angry with the entire congregation?”

“And you shall surround the king, each with his weapons in his hand; and whoever comes within the ranks shall be put to death. And be with the king when he goes out and when he comes in.”

then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

“Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?”

But King Zedekiah swore to Jeremiah in secret saying, “As Yahweh lives, who made this life for us, surely I will not put you to death, nor will I give you over to the hand of these men who are seeking your life.”

“Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die.

Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them. Shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
