Numbers 20:10

“Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

“Aaron will be gathered to his people, for he shall not enter the land which I have given to the sons of Israel because you rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah.

‘For when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea and came to Kadesh,

“You gave bread from heaven for them for their hunger, You brought forth water from a rock for them for their thirst, And You said to them to enter in order to possess The land which You swore to give them.

He brought forth streams also from the cliff face And caused waters to run down like rivers.

They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah, So that it went badly with Moses on their account;

Because they were rebellious against His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips.
