Matthew 23:24

For those who guide this people are leading them astray; And those who are guided by them are brought to confusion.

“Again, you have heard that the ancients were told, ‘You shall not make false vows, but shall fulfill your vows to the Lord.’

“Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”

“Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the sanctuary, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the sanctuary is obligated.’

you, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that one shall not steal, do you steal?
