Malachi 4:1

“His roots are dried below, And his branch is cut off above.

You will make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger; Yahweh will swallow them up in His wrath, And fire will devour them.

Fire goes before Him And burns up His adversaries all around.

For Yahweh of hosts will have a day of reckoning Against everyone who is proud and high And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be made low.

For wickedness burns like a fire; It consumes briars and thorns; It even sets the thickets of the forest aflame, And they roll upward in a column of smoke.

“Behold, they have become like stubble, Fire burns them; They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame; There will be no coal to warm by Nor a fire to sit before!

and I will purge from you the rebels and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the land where they sojourn, but they will not enter the land of Israel. Thus you will know that I am Yahweh.

‘You will be fuel for the fire; your blood will be in the midst of the land. You will not be remembered, for I, Yahweh, have spoken.’”

“Then stand it empty on its coals So that it may be hot And its bronze may glow And its uncleanness may be melted in it, Its rust brought to a complete end.

“As for you, My flock, thus says Lord Yahweh, ‘Behold, I will judge between one sheep and another, between the rams and the male goats.

“The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of Yahweh comes.

“Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Though his height was like the height of cedars, And he was strong as the oaks; I even destroyed his fruit above and his root below.

Like tangled thorns, And like those who are drunken with their drink, They are consumed As stubble fully dried up.

Behold, a day is coming for Yahweh when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you.

‘So now we call the arrogant blessed; not only are the doers of wickedness built up, but they also test God and escape.’”

“Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For their fathers were doing the same things to the prophets.

The Great Day of Yahweh
