Luke 24:26

“Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are decreed.

“The Son of Man is going, just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”

After that, He appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the countryside.

“But also some women among us astounded us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning,

and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,

So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.
