‘But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and is alive, and was lost and has been found.’”

“Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

It is a trustworthy saying and deserving full acceptance: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost.

But she who lives in self-indulgence is dead even while she lives.
