Luke 11:54

Now it happened that when the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to put to death and to make alive, that this man is sending word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? But know now, and see how he is seeking a quarrel against me.”

And they were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.

Then they *sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Him in order to trap Him in a statement.

So they watched Him, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, so that they might catch Him in some statement, in order to deliver Him to the rule and the authority of the governor.

And they were unable to catch Him in a word in the presence of the people; and marveling at His answer, they became silent.

“So do not be persuaded by them, for more than forty of them—who have bound themselves under a curse not to eat or drink until they slay him—are lying in wait for him and now they are ready and waiting for the promise from you.”
