Leviticus 17:10

“However, flesh with its life, that is, its blood, you shall not eat.

‘It is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your places of habitation: you shall not eat any fat or any blood.’”

‘And you shall not eat any blood, either of bird or animal, in any of your places of habitation.

‘You shall not eat anything with the blood nor interpret omens or soothsaying.

“Only you shall not eat the blood; you are to pour it out on the ground like water.

“Only be strong in yourselves not to eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.

“Only you shall not eat its blood; you are to pour it out on the ground like water.

So the people rushed greedily upon the spoil, and they took sheep and oxen and calves and slaughtered them on the ground; and the people ate them with the blood.

and he said, “Be it far from me, O Yahweh, that I should do this. Shall I drink the blood of the men who went at the risk of their lives?” Therefore he was not willing to drink it. These things the three mighty men did.

The face of Yahweh is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.

“For I have set My face against this city for evil and not for good,” declares Yahweh. “It will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire.”’

“Therefore thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I am going to set My face against you for your evil demise, even to cut off all Judah.

“Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “You eat meat with the blood in it and lift up your eyes to your idols as you shed blood. Should you then possess the land?

“And though they go into captivity before their enemies, From there I will command the sword that it kill them, And I will set My eyes against them for evil and not for good.”

but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from sexual immorality and from what is strangled and from blood.
