Joshua 11:6

And Joshua did to them as Yahweh had said to him; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.

Now it happened the same night that Yahweh said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have given it into your hands.

And David captured from him 1,700 horsemen and 20,000 foot soldiers; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but left enough of them for 100 chariots.

“Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both shields and large shields, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears; and for seven years they will make fires of them.

“Behold, I am against you,” declares Yahweh of hosts. “And I will burn up her chariots in smoke, and a sword will devour your young lions; and I will cut off your prey from the land, and no longer will the voice of your messengers be heard.”
