Job 3:16

“For now I would have lain down and been quiet; I would have slept then; it would have been rest to me,

“A cloud vanishes, and it is gone, So he who goes down to Sheol does not come up.

Before I go—and I shall not return— To the land of darkness and shadow of death,

Let them be as a snail which melts away as it goes along, Like the miscarriages of a woman which never behold the sun.

So I lauded the dead who are already dead more than the living who are still living.

But better off than both of them is the one who never has been, who has never seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

If a man becomes the father of one hundred children and lives many years, however many the days of his years may be, but his soul is not satisfied with good things, and he does not even have a proper burial, then I say, “Better the miscarriage than he,

Because he did not put me to death from the womb, So that my mother would have been my grave, And her womb ever pregnant.
