Jeremiah 8:19

Thus says Yahweh, “What injustice did your fathers find in Me, That they went far from Me And walked after vanity and became vain?

They are vanity, a work of mockery; In the time of their punishment they will perish.

“Why are You like a man confused, Like a mighty man who cannot save? Yet You are in our midst, O Yahweh, And we are called by Your name; Do not leave us!”

“For they prophesy a lie to you in order to remove you far from your land; and I will banish you, and you will perish.

“Indeed the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been doing only evil in My sight from their youth; for the sons of Israel have been only provoking Me to anger by the work of their hands,” declares Yahweh.

“The city shall be 18,000 cubits round about; and the name of the city from that day shall be, ‘Yahweh is there.’”

“Now, why do you make a loud shout? Is there no king among you, Or has your counselor perished, That writhing has taken hold of you like a woman in childbirth?

and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We are also men of the same nature as you, proclaiming the gospel to you that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.
