Jeremiah 6:28

‘You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand against the life of your neighbor; I am Yahweh.

‘But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart; They have turned aside and gone away.

“Let everyone beware of his neighbor, And do not trust any brother, Because every brother surely supplants, And every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.

“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; all of them are bronze and tin and iron and lead in the furnace; they are the dross of silver.

“In your uncleanness is lewdness. Because I would have cleansed you, Yet you are not clean; You will not be cleansed from your uncleanness again Until I have caused My wrath against you to be at rest.
