Jeremiah 50:9

O daughter of Babylon, you devastated one, How blessed will be the one who repays you With the recompense with which you have recompensed us.

“All of them are those who seize the sword, Learned in war; Each man has his sword at his side, Guarding against the dreadful things of the night.

The oracle concerning Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz beheld.

‘—For many nations and great kings will make slaves of them, even them; and I will repay them according to their deeds and according to the work of their hands—’”

and all the kings of the north, near and far, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the earth which are upon the face of the ground, and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

“For a nation has come up against her out of the north; it will make her land an object of horror, and there will be no inhabitant in it. Both man and beast have wandered off; they have gone away!

“Behold, a people is coming from the north, And a great nation and many kings Will be aroused from the remote parts of the earth.

“They seize their bow and javelin; They are cruel and have no compassion. Their voice roars like the sea; And they ride on horses, Arranged like a man for the battle Against you, O daughter of Babylon.

Lift up a standard in the land, Blow a trumpet among the nations! Set apart the nations against her; Summon against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz; Appoint a marshal against her; Bring up the horses like bristly locusts.
