Jeremiah 46:12

There is an outcry in the streets concerning the wine; All gladness turns to gloom. The joy of the earth is taken away into exile.

“Judah mourns, And her gates languish; They sit on the ground in mourning, And the outcry of Jerusalem has gone up.

Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, and all his people,

Let not the swift man flee, Nor the mighty man escape; In the north beside the river Euphrates They have stumbled and fallen.

Thus says Yahweh: “Behold, waters are going to rise from the north And become an overflowing torrent, And overflow the land as well as its fullness, The city and those who inhabit it; And the men will cry out, And every inhabitant of the land will wail.

At the sound, “Babylon has been seized!” the earth is shaken, and an outcry is heard among the nations.

“Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.

He remembers his mighty ones; They stumble in their march; They hurry to her wall, And the mantelet is set up.
