Jeremiah 18:12

“You were tired out by the length of your road, Yet you did not say, ‘It is hopeless.’ You found renewed strength; Therefore you did not faint.

“Keep your feet from being barefoot And your throat from thirst; But you said, ‘It is hopeless! No! For I have loved strangers, And after them I will walk.’

“They keep saying to those who spurn Me, ‘Yahweh has said, “You will have peace”’; And as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, They say, ‘Evil will not come upon you.’

“You have said, ‘It is worthless to serve God; and what gain is it that we have kept His charge and that we have walked in mourning before Yahweh of hosts?
