Jeremiah 14:18

“I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned or hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also command the clouds to rain no rain on it.”

You who were full of noise, You roaring city, you exultant town; Your slain were not slain with the sword, Nor did they die in battle.

Do not go out into the field And do not walk on the road, For the enemy has a sword; Terror is on every side.

‘The sword is outside, and the plague and the famine are inside. He who is in the field will die by the sword; famine and the plague will also devour those in the city.

“But I gave you also cleanness of teeth in all your cities And lack of bread in all your places, Yet you have not returned to Me,” declares Yahweh.
