Isaiah 24:17

“For he is thrown into the net by his own feet, And he steps on the netting.

“Then He shall become a sanctuary; But to both the houses of Israel, a stone to strike and a rock to stumble over, And a snare and a trap for the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Therefore thus says Yahweh, “Behold, I am bringing calamity on them which they will not be able to get out of; and they will cry to Me, yet I will not listen to them.

“Panic and pit and pitfall are coming upon you, O inhabitant of Moab,” declares Yahweh.

You called as in the day of an appointed time My terrors on every side; And there was no one who escaped or survived In the day of Yahweh’s anger. Those whom I gave birth to and reared, My enemy consumed them.

Panic and pitfall have befallen us, Devastation and destruction;

“You have feared a sword; so a sword I will bring upon you,” Lord Yahweh declares.

“I will also spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My snare. And I will bring him to Babylon in the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, though he will die there.

As when a man flees from a lion And a bear meets him; Or he goes home, leans his hand against the wall, And a snake bites him.
