Genesis 46:12

So she conceived and bore a son, and he named him Er.

Then she conceived again and bore a son, and she named him Onan.

But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was evil in the sight of Yahweh, so Yahweh put him to death.

But what he did was displeasing in the sight of Yahweh; so He put him to death also.

And then it happened, as he drew back his hand, that behold, his brother came out. So she said, “What a breach you have made for yourself!” So he was named Perez.

Now these are the names of the sons of Israel who came to Egypt with Jacob; they came each one with his household:

The sons of Judah were Er and Onan, but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

“Moreover, may your house be like the house of Perez whom Tamar bore to Judah, through the seed which Yahweh will grant you by this young woman.”

These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,

Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, from the sons of Perez the son of Judah.
