¹⁴Then God said, “Let there be ¹^,^alights in the ²^,^bexpanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for ^csigns and for ^dseasons and for days and years; ¹⁵and let them be for ¹lights in the ²expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. ¹⁶So God made the two ¹great lights, the ^agreater ²light ³to rule the day, and the lesser ⁴light ⁵to rule the night, and also ^bthe stars. ¹⁷^aAnd God placed them in the ¹expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, ¹⁸and ¹to ^arule the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.
