Ezekiel 7:8

‘Vengeance is Mine, and retribution, In due time their foot will stumble; For the day of their disaster is near, And the impending things are hastening upon them.’

Yahweh has done what He purposed; He has completed His word Which He commanded from days of old. He has pulled down without sparing, And He has caused the enemy to be glad over you; He has exalted the might of your adversaries.

They hunted our steps So that we could not walk in our open squares; Our end drew near, Our days were finished, For our end had come.

“But they rebelled against Me and were not willing to listen to Me; each one did not cast away the detestable things of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out My wrath on them, to spend My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

“Thus I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My fury; their way I have brought upon their heads,” declares Lord Yahweh.

The princes of Judah have become like those who move a boundary; On them I will pour out My wrath like water.

Alas for the day! For the day of Yahweh is near, And it will come as destruction from the Almighty.

And Yahweh said to me, “What do you see, Amos?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “Behold, I am about to put a plumb line In the midst of My people Israel. I will pass over them no longer.
