Exodus 19:18

Then Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.

And all the people perceived the thunder and the lightning flashes and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and the people perceived it, and they shook and stood at a distance.

“So be prepared by morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to Me on the top of the mountain.

“And you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the very heart of the heavens: darkness, cloud, and dense gloom.

And he said, “Yahweh came from Sinai, And He dawned on them from Seir; He shone forth from Mount Paran, And He came from the midst of ten thousand holy ones; At His right hand there was flashing lightning for them.

“The mountains flowed at the presence of Yahweh, This Sinai, at the presence of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

“Then You came down on Mount Sinai, And spoke with them from heaven; You gave them upright judgments and true laws, Good statutes and commandments.

The earth quaked; The heavens also dripped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

Like fire that burns the forest And like a flame that burns up the mountains,

He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

The mountains skipped like rams, The hills, like lambs.

Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, That the mountains might quake at Your presence—

Mountains quake because of Him, And the hills melt; Indeed the earth is upheaved by His presence, The world and all the inhabitants in it.

and to give rest to you who are afflicted and to us as well at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,

For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind,

And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.”

And he opened the pit of the abyss and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.

And the sanctuary was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.
