Deuteronomy 17:5

“And he who sacrifices to any god, other than to Yahweh alone, shall be devoted to destruction.

“But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death because he has counseled rebellion against Yahweh your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to drive you from the way in which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from among you.

“If your brother, your mother’s son, or your son or daughter, or the wife you cherish, or your friend who is as your own soul, entices you secretly, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods’ (whom neither you nor your fathers have known,

Indeed, he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he erected altars for Baal and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel had done, and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.

That too would have been an iniquity calling for judgment, For I would have denied God above.

Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy by the mouth of two or three witnesses.
