Daniel 8:16

“I came near to one of those who were standing by and began seeking out from him the exact meaning of all this. So he said it to me and made known to me the interpretation of these things:

Then he said, “Behold, I am going to let you know what will happen at the final period of the indignation, for it pertains to the appointed time of the end.

and while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, touched me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.

Then he made me understand and spoke with me and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding.

And he said to me, “O Daniel, man of high esteem, understand the words that I am about to speak to you and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling.

“Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the last days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future.”

And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be until the end of these wonders?”

And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.
