Colossians 1:18

“I also shall make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.

that the Christ was to suffer, and that as first of the resurrection from the dead, He was going to proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”

Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers;

whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.

Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.

And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church,

which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and I fill up what is lacking of Christ’s afflictions in my flesh, on behalf of His body, which is the church,

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood—
