Acts 8:22

The scheming of folly is sin, And the scoffer is an abomination to men.

‘Therefore, O king, may my advice seem good to you: break away now from your sins by doing righteousness and from your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a prolonging of your prosperity.’

And this word pleased the whole congregation, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch.

And these they stood before the apostles, and after praying, they laid their hands on them.

with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may give them repentance leading to the full knowledge of the truth,
