2 Chronicles 26:16

“You have indeed struck down Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy your glory and stay at home; for why should you provoke calamity so that you, even you, would fall, and Judah with you?”

So the king came from Damascus, and the king saw the altar; then the king drew near the altar and made offerings on it,

Now it happened that when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him forsook the law of Yahweh.

And he did what was right in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that his father Uzziah had done; however he did not enter the temple of Yahweh. But the people continued acting corruptly.

But Hezekiah gave no return for the benefit he received, because his heart was proud; therefore wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.
